when we know full well that we can do what we choose.
Yet we refuse,
living each day as if one day we’ll be set free,
while enrolling ourselves in our own self-righteous slavery,
too afraid of what it may feel like to let go of the struggle,
the struggle we seem to live and strive for.
Afraid that once we do what we’ve worked forever for,
our lives may be swept away and taken from us.

Then again,
we’re too afraid to taint our passions,
forgetting the fact that to live life is to make mistakes,
that the real fact is: to be human and to live is to be imperfect and to make mistakes.
